Follow the Trail

Growing up, one of the Grimm stories that fascinated me most was Hansel and Gretel.
It was macabre, the witch who wanted to eat the children, and yet tender in its innocence. Two kids lost in the woods, trying to find their way home. I was mesmerized by the gingerbread house, and I always wondered, if it were me, would I have left better clues than breadcrumbs? And would I have resisted the temptation of the house itself?
Unknown.
But every time the story was told in greater detail, when it reached the part where they were captured, confined, and fed with ill intentions, it saddened me. And yet, in the end, they were victorious. They broke free from their impending doom.
This story is one version of the hero’s journey.
Every life that touches this planet carries its own version. Pain, lessons, trauma, tragedy, and triumph. Each story is distinct, with different characters, settings, and plot twists, yet all share the same truth. Humans living the human experience.
As a hypnotherapist and coach, I see myself as a wiser Gretel.
More guide than savior.
And instead of breadcrumbs, there are lessons.
The aftermath of my own journey, the alchemy of loss, grief, divorce, and more loss, has been the transformation of those experiences into compassion, understanding, and deep healing.
Whatever childhood story or hero you remember most vividly is not random.
It is symbolic. It reflects one of the many narratives humanity carries within it. And it is up to us to see those stories clearly and harvest their core lessons.
Collectively, we are moving toward a more awake and aligned world, even when it does not look that way. Right now, it may seem as though the villains are winning, but do not be fooled; victory has always belonged to the light.
Your story is unique, and the alchemy of what you create from your lessons is the gift you leave behind, the trail of clues for the next generation to follow.
The answers, as it turns out, are inside of you. Hypnotherapy only helps unlock it.
