Are You Choosing a Course — or Choosing Your Life?

In the fast-paced world we live in, it’s easy to get swept away by the flow of expectations. School, sports, extracurriculars, family events, social life — it can feel like there’s barely enough time to breathe, let alone think deeply about your future.
But here’s the truth: if you don’t stop to ask yourself important questions now, life will start answering them for you.
As a junior or senior in high school, you are standing at a crossroads that’s bigger than just college applications, job decisions, or what major you’ll pick. You are beginning to shape the life you’ll live.
Have you taken a moment to ask yourself:
What are my dreams, goals, and aspirations?
Am I picking a course because it feels “safe” or expected?
Or am I making choices that truly align with the kind of life I want to lead?
Am I drifting along the plan others have laid out for me — or am I creating my own?
For the past 20 years, I have worked with kids ages 3–18 through my dance school. One thing I have seen, time and again, is that by high school, life becomes so busy — filled with assignments, practices, performances, family obligations, and a fast-paced social world — that teens rarely get a chance to pause and reflect on their dreams.
It’s not that you don’t have dreams. It’s that the pace of life doesn’t make space for them. Unless you intentionally carve it out.
Here’s what I want you to know: You are not too young to start building a life that aligns with who you are. You do not have to follow a script someone else wrote. You can lead a life fueled by passion, purpose, and your unique gifts.
But it requires you to be brave enough to stop. To ask the real questions. And to trust the answers that rise from within you.
At Ignite, we believe you deserve that chance. Not just to choose a course. But to choose your life — on purpose, with clarity and confidence.
The next step isn’t just about picking a major or a school. It’s about knowing who you are becoming — and daring to follow that path with your whole heart.
The world needs more young people who are lit up from the inside out. The world needs you.
Are you ready to ignite that spark?
